"We are immensely grateful for the trust of so many people.
But the more people join, the greater the impact."
With the €60,000 raised, De Mulders is taking the next step in their mission to radically make the shoe industry more sustainable. The goal: developing circular products from old shoes.
Collaborations with innovative partners such as FastFeetGrinded
(shoe recycling) from Heerhugowaard and BlueLoop Originals (textile upcycling) make this possible.
One of the first products will be the Woolboot – a comfortable slipper made from old shoes that have been returned to the store in Alkmaar.
Still Possible to Join
Although the target amount has already been reached, the campaign remains open for participation.
"Every additional contribution increases our impact and strengthens our community's involvement," says Mulder. "Investors can share their ideas, test new products, and receive benefits such as 4% interest and a 10% discount on shoes."
De Mulders demonstrates that even a local store can play a significant role in the transition to a circular economy.
