The widening of the A27 and the redevelopment of the Hooipolder interchange is one of the largest road infrastructure projects in the Netherlands in the coming years. The motorway will be expanded with additional lanes, and the bridges near Houten, Gorinchem, and Hank will be completely renewed. In addition, the Hooipolder junction will undergo a major redesign, including the construction of a new flyover and the removal of some traffic lights.
Rijkswaterstaat has announced several A27 closures for this summer to allow for major construction works. The contractor consortium Alséén has scheduled these closures during the summer holiday to minimize disruption to daily commuters.

Friday, July 25 at 22:00 until Friday, August 1 at 22:00: Closure of the A27 between Gorinchem and Everdingen (direction Utrecht).

Friday, August 1 at 22:00 until Monday, August 4 at 05:00: Closure of the A27 between Everdingen and Gorinchem (both directions).

Monday, August 4 at 05:00 until Wednesday, August 13 at 05:00: Closure of the A27 between Everdingen and Gorinchem (direction Breda). Rijkswaterstaat warns that delays may reach up to one hour.

Wednesday, August 13 at 22:00 until Monday, August 18 at 05:00: Closure of the A27 between Sint-Annabosch and Hooipolder, and between Hooipolder and Exit 19 (Oosterhout). This coincides with the “Honderd van Hooipolder” operation, during which the new underpass at Hooipolder will be slid into place beneath the A27.
Diversions will be in place via the A15, A16, A59, and A2
