Belgian students can now access free lessons on the impact of fashion

Belgian primary school children can now learn about the impact of fashion. The educational package “Do Trousers Grow on Trees?”, based on the book of the same name, is now being distributed free of charge thanks to support from retailer JBC.

“At JBC, we believe in the power of young generations,” says Anaïs Claes, Sustainability Manager at JBC, in the press release. “We don’t just want to dress them, but also raise awareness about the story behind every garment. With this learning package, we aim to bring sustainability into classrooms in an accessible way.”

The teaching materials are available in both Dutch and French. They guide students through the full process behind fashion – from raw materials and production, to the journey a garment takes before it ends up in a wardrobe. The package also highlights how clothing can be cared for and maintained. It includes ready-to-use presentations with interactive quizzes, creative assignments, and lesson sheets.

Interactieve les over mode.
