InWear
Niels Martinsen founded InWear in 1969. At the age of 20, he was a co-owner of one of Copenhagen’s trendiest nightclubs, where he came up with the idea for a fashion brand. Niels wanted to dress the women around him – independent, curious, and lively women. He purchased six rolls of jersey fabric and, together with his then-girlfriend Kirsten Teisner, a talented young fashion designer, created a collection of dresses and blouses.
InWear quickly became a fashion sensation, offering a modern vision of femininity for a generation of women who followed their own paths. Fifty years later, much has changed, but InWear’s philosophy remains the same: to create a wardrobe with styles that offer women freedom, ease, and a sense of confidence. The core of what we do is the belief that, while trends come and go, the InWear woman is always seeking the feeling of slipping into the perfectly fitting black trousers that feel like an old friend.
