GIJS introduces shoes specially designed for diabetics and rheumatism patients
This autumn, GIJS is launching a new shoe specially developed for people with extra sensitive feet, such as diabetics and rheumatism patients. With this introduction, the Dutch brand is responding to a growing need: diabetes is now the number one fastest growing chronic disease in the United Kingdom. More and more people are experiencing foot problems as a result of diabetes or rheumatism, and good footwear is essential for them.
Designed for extra sensitive feet
People with diabetes or rheumatism often suffer from reduced blood circulation, sensitivity or painful joints. The new shoe from GIJS is therefore designed to offer maximum protection and comfort.
The antibacterial and seamless lining prevents friction and irritation. This reduces the risk of wounds and skin damage, which is an important consideration for diabetics. Because the upper is made from a single piece and there are no noticeable seams, the skin is optimally protected, even when worn for long periods of time.
Less strain, more comfort
The shoe is equipped with the sturdy and cushioning Milo sole, a sole that has long been known within the GIJS collection for its comfort and excellent cushioning.
In addition, the shoe offers extra support in the arch of the foot, which provides more stability and a natural roll of the foot.
The spacious forefoot gives the toes sufficient freedom of movement. The lace fastening and a good heel lock ensure that the foot remains firmly in place and does not slip. This prevents pressure points, a crucial detail for people with swelling or posture problems.
The Milo sole provides effective shock absorption and reduces the impact on ankles, knees and other joints. Thanks to its thoughtful construction, pressure is evenly distributed across the foot, preventing peak loads on sensitive areas. This is particularly important for diabetics and rheumatism patients, for whom pressure points can more quickly lead to complaints.
The removable footbed provides extra support in the arch of the foot, contributing to a stable foot position and a natural gait when walking.
The spacious forefoot allows sufficient freedom of movement for the toes and prevents pinching, even in cases of swelling or when using orthopaedic insoles.
Comfort without compromise
With this new shoe, GIJS proves that functional footwear and contemporary design go hand in hand. The shoe is not only medically designed, but also stylish and suitable for everyday use.
