Her Majesty was present on this day to talk to several local entrepreneurs from the Langstraat, among others, about their craft and their contribution to the shoe and leather industry.

“We are privileged to be one of the few manufacturing companies within the Langstraat to sit down and talk about this with passion. You noticed the genuine interest from Her Majesty for the traditional craft. Topics such as retention of professional knowledge/training, how do we contribute to innovation and sustainability, how do we work together with colleagues not only in the immediate area, but also on a national and international level,” said van Drunen Schoenfabriek.

After the discussion with the other official partners of the Schoenenkwartier, there was also time to present brought products to Her Majesty in a 1-on-1 situation. Interested and critical questions about the manufacturing process of the shoes were flying around Remco's ears, which made you realize that a visit to the Schoenenkwartier was not only an obligation for her, but it showed that she has a great interest in design and (artisanal) manufacturing processes.

How did Remco experience this special (birth) day?
“A unique experience that I look back on with pride and a great deal of pleasure. And I am also proud of our colleagues who ensure that we can continue to carry out our profession together in the Netherlands full of passion and pleasure,” said Remco.
